Subject: News Tip – Tractor Supply Recommendation Allegedly Led to the Death of My Dog and Critical Illness of Another Hello, Hi I am reaching out because I believe my family's experience with Tractor Supply is a story that deserves attention. I am asking for help in bringing awareness to what happened to my dogs after I relied on advice and instructions given to Tractor Supply employees. On or around July 21, I went to Tractor Supply specifically looking for and intending to purchase an actual worming medication made for dogs. I was already planning to buy the dog wormer because I wanted to make sure I was giving my dogs something appropriate for them. However, two Tractor Supply workers talked me out of purchasing the dog worming medication. Instead, they recommended that I purchase ivermectin. I questioned whether the product would be safe for my dogs because it was not specifically intended for use in dogs. I trusted the associates and asked questions because I wanted to make absolutely sure I was doing the right thing. I was assured that the ivermectin would be okay to give to my dogs. I was also given specific dosage instructions and was told to give 1 cc for every 10 pounds of body weight. Because I trusted the advice I was being given by the two Tractor Supply associates, I followed the instructions provided to me. Tragically, after receiving the medication, one of my beloved dogs died, and another became critically ill and required emergency veterinary care. This has been absolutely devastating for me and my family. My dogs were not just animals—they were members of our family. I went into Tractor Supply intending to purchase medication specifically made for dogs. Instead, after being talked out of purchasing that product and being persuaded by two associates to purchase ivermectin, I trusted the advice I was given. I never imagined that asking for help and trusting employees at a store would lead to such devastating consequences. What makes this situation especially concerning to me is that I specifically questioned whether the product was safe and relied on the assurances and dosage instructions given to me by the associates. I believe there are serious questions that need to be asked about what advice was given to me, what training employees receive regarding animal medications and products, and what responsibility a company has when customers rely on recommendations and instructions provided by its employees. Since this happened, I have contacted Tractor Supply several times in an effort to get answers and accountability from the company. Each time, I have been told that risk management is reviewing the case and will get back to me. However, it has now been approximately a month and a half, and I still have not received a meaningful response or resolution. I am sharing my story because I do not want another pet owner to go through what my family has experienced. If bringing attention to what happened can help prevent another family from losing a beloved pet, then I feel it is important to speak out. I have information and documentation related to this incident, including details about the product involved, the instructions that were given to me, communications with the company, and veterinary records related to what happened to my dogs.

We were politely greeted at the door by the register clerk, whom I see in the Gatesville Texas TSC almost everytime I go in. She is extremely friendly and very helpful. I was approached two times asking if I needed any assistance, that’s becoming a rarity at a lot of stores. Convenient location and well stocked shelves.
