Q: Why within 2 months the 73oz bottle I purchased became stringy? I kept it in a kitchen pantry. Should I have refrigerated it, it does not say? Birds don't want it. Must be bad.

- A: Hi DDunk and thank you for your question regarding the Homestead Natural Red Carmine Ready-To-Use Nectar. Sometimes the natural dye settles with the sugar. If you add some luke warm water and mix it up, it should solve the problem. The ready-to-use nectar does not need to be refrigerated but can be if you would like. I don't understand why this company still sells this garbage NOR why you people who profess to loving hummingbirds buy it. Making sugar water is pretty simple - SUGAR and WATER. You don't need this stuff.
