- A: The shield is a very thin layer of polycarbonate. Its good for things like woodturning and weedwacking. You might get away with some light grinding but I wouldn't take a chance with anything that generates more heat than that.5 years agoHelpful?

Works well to protect me from wood lathe chips and grinding dust. Clear shield, but you must remove the protective film that it comes with! Reasonable price and sturdy.

Would not buy again

Looks like a great product that I needed and was in TSC area so bought it.. My complaint is fighting to get the sticker/label off that is glued right in the middle of the viewing area. About the same price as a Jackson from welding supply stores. Would have saved a lot of time going to NWS.

It’s fine, does the job, no issues. I wish they sold extra clear lenses. I couldn’t find them online so I just bought two.
