This Hobart ER 70S-6 Carbon Steel Solid Welding Wire offers sound, porosity-free welds with powerful deoxidizers for your work with shielding gases. This Hobart welding wire is great for construction work, farm implement fabrication, shaft buildup, tanks, truck bodies, and general shop applications with poor fit-up or rusty and oily plates. The higher level of silicon in this solid welding wire can make the filler metal seem to float oxides to the surface and slightly more fluid than others. The wire diameter of this carbon steel welding wire is .035 in. long and the spool weight is two pounds.

Q: Is this what I should be using with argon gas mug welding
6 years ago1 Answer
- A: This wire is for welding steel in the MIG process. Recommended gases for this wire are C25(75%Argon/25%CO2) or 100% CO2. There are other mixes that work but not 100% Argon.6 years agoHelpful?

Works great

I put a roll of this wire in my Miller welder when the Lincoln wire I had been using ran out while I was building something from mild steel flats. I honestly cannot say whether it was the different brand or the fact that the Lincoln wire had been a bit older but with the Hobart wire the welds improved significantly. As a novice welder I was challenged putting down clean and consistent welds and with the Hobart wire I was much more successful at that. I won't use anything else in the future.
Yes, I recommend this product.
