However, normal variations in product can occur as a result of normal variations in processing. These normal variations will have no impact on the nutritional value of the food. For each of our dry products, we have defined kibble size specification ranges that are maintained for each production batch. To ensure optimal kibble size consistency, we strive for the specified kibble size from batch to batch. Throughout production, kibble size is checked at least three times every thirty minutes at different points in the production process, to ensure that the proper target size is maintained. There can be kibble size variations from bag to bag which are still within specification for the product due to the product being made at different plants, larger kibbles can be due to a worn die plate, while smaller kibbles can be due to a newer die plate.
