Just as I needed the Hillman 3/4 in x 18 ga machine bushings for my 38 year old Snapper 33114S deck spindle shaft lower end, I needed these Hillman 1 in x 14 ga for the top. The old spindle drive pulley had broken off and the replacement pulley was not exactly the same as the old one. The center load bushing that is welded to the pulley was about 3/16 in higher than the top of the pulley. When I screwed the 1-1/8 in pulley retaining nut down it hit this and would only load the bushing and not also the pulley. The Hillman 1 in x 14 ga machine bushings made up for this 3/16 in gap and enabled me to not only load the pulley bushing but also the pulley. The Snapper works perfectly now and there is no chance of this pulley breaking off it's center bushing like the old pulley did.
