Q: Will this tire work for replacing the craftsman pull behind spreader tires? They are 4.00-6 as well. Cannot find tire with wheel to replace so just looking at tire.

- A: The tire/wheel assembly is on TSC website, the Hi-Run mfg#CT1005 (SKU#154628099, with 5/8” bearings installed), same tire as CT1006 but with a rim. Both can work as replacement. Please make sure the rib tread works for the behind spreader.2 years agoHelpful?

Won't Work as a Replacement for a Carslisle 4.00-6

I really cant give a rating since the tire didn't fit my application. Even though it is sized at 4.00-6, the same size tire I needed to replace, I couldn't get the tire completely mounted. I got it on the rim but could not get the bead to seat. Turns out the distance between the beads from one side to the other is 1/2" narrower than the tire I am replacing which is a Carlisle 4.00-6. I wish I had figured that out before I spent over an hour trying to seat the bead. Never would have thought there would be a difference in the width of the distance between the beads between 2 different tire brands. Other than that it seemed like it was probably a good tire if it fits your application.
