The Harvest Lane Honey In-Hive Beehive Feeder will hold 96 oz. of sugar water or water for your bees. This beehive water feeder comes with a top called cap and ladders to allow the bees to feed and climb back out. Open feeding causes drowning in bees. Feed bees immediately after installing a new package. For existing packages, start feeding in the late fall into the spring. The advantage of an In-Hive Feeder is that your bees will not have to leave the hive to use it.

This in-hive feeder has a mixed performance. It can hold a large volume of syrup, allowing for less frequent refilling, and the ladder system works well to prevent bees from drowning. However, the ass...

Perfect for purpose.

I bought three of these feeders this spring and am very pleased with them. I read several negative reviews of these feeders but have not seen anything like that so far. The feeder is wider (2”) vs. 1 3/8” for my wooden frames but fits snuggly in my standard Langstroth hive. The length is exactly the same as my wooden frames (19”). So I just replace one of my wooden frames when I insert this feeder. As for drown bees, I haven’t had any. These feeders have a ladder of sorts and the bees climb them quite easily. When I refill with sugar syrup, invariably a bee or two down inside the feeder are caught off-guard and end up floating on a rising tide of liquid syrup. Once I stop pouring they regain their footing on the ladder and climb out of the feeder. You can fill over 1 1/2 gallons of syrup into these feeders so the interval between refills is several days. The feeder top and ladders come as one piece and although there are no instructions included, it is very easy to figure out how to fold up and snap the top onto the feeder body. The plastic is reasonably thick and flexible, not brittle. As I said, I haven’t experienced any of the negative aspects other reviewers have experienced. Maybe these have been redesigned.

Decent feeder.

Didn't come with any instructions, but it wasn't hard to figure out how to put it together. Seems to be a decent quality feeder.

Decent feeder

Works fine. It’s a PITA to get the cover to snap on and it pops up when handling it. Ladders work fine, some bees drown but nothing alarming. In some of my hives it takes up two frames of space and other it only take one frame of space 🤷🏻‍♂️. Anyway, decent price and it works fine.

Will drown a lot of bees!!

Purchased two of these because the price was favorable. However, they are poorly designed and will drown a lot of bees. The bee ladder doesn't snap together correctly and doesn't stay in place. Pay a little extra an get thr Mann Lake.

No, I do not recommend this product.

OK feeder. Great price.

For the price I think the quality is fair, not a Benz but it keeps the bees moving. If you are a do it yourself kinda guy than snapping these stubborn legos together isn't too bad.
