Rated 4 out of 5 by from I LOVE mine with a few adjustments... I hang all waters & feeders. This handle NEEDS something to keep the chain from slipping side to side which when not level dumps the water. When you fill it it needs to be level as well or it runs out... this isn't a big deal to me really. We place heavy duty rubber bands on both sides of the hang loop of my chain, wind it around & tie it off. This keeps it level when the chickens bump it, no slipping of the chain on the metal handle, Problem solved. Rusting? I've had the same ones for 8 months and NO rust of any kind. I have weak arms from injury and these I can open. I am so surprised by the negative ratings. I DO think they are over priced since you still have to make your own adjustments. I have a pile of the plastic twist aparts we don't use anymore.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this brand of chicken waterers My husband bought me four of these and none of the four hold water.. They flood as you fill them. The only way to use them is to place them in a large plastic plant saucer, and the water stops flowing once the saucer is full, if everything is perfectly level. Not worth even a cheap price. I have had good luck with Little Giant brand

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great for 1 year Had 3 of these for a year ...I bought them the same time....they all rusted on the bottom..tiny pin holes but enough to drain all the water....and the company doesn't help replace them either.....go with the plastic waterers is your best bet

does this have to set perfectly leval to prevent overflow

Asked by: oneeye1
It needs to be somewhat level. It does not have to be perfectly level. These units work off of a vacuum seal.

This unit is not designed to be hung. Needs to sit on somethin--typically bricks or cinder blocks are used

How is it filled?

Asked by: Dee Morgan
Remove the lid. Put water in the tank. Put the lid back on the tank which creates the vacuum seal.
