This walk-behind spreader makes it quick and easy to spread large amounts of fertilizer, seed, game feed, ice melt and more over areas as big as 16,000 sq. ft. The spreader is built on 10 in. pneumatic tires, allowing it to roll smoothly over grass and rocks. The controls are mounted right on the handle for easy access as you push the spreader, and the hopper can hold up to 70 lb. of material at once to reduce the amount of refills needed. Made with durable metal components and a powder-coat finish, this broadcast spreader is made to last season after season. It can even be used all year round and in any weather conditions thanks to the rust protection and the included vinyl rain cover. Great for Home Use!

This is a good, durable unit for home use. It's probably a little small for commercial use. My only complaint is about the nut that stops the flow control lever...the plastic wing nut broke the first time I tightened it. I used a steel wingnut to replace it and it now works fine.
This is much better than the all plastic models and worth the extra $$.

Not worth the money

I used it only two times covering no more than 2,000 sq ft maximum & I am already returning it tomorrow. I tried to fertilize my back lawn last weekend & the impeller kept sticking & would no longer rotate/spin to distribute fertilizer. A piece of junk & not worth the money. I thought I'd pay a few more $ for this product thinking that it was a better quality and I only had it for two weeks and can't even use it anymore.

Pass on this product

Not reliable. Missing a part on the wheel ,the company kept sending the wrong part. Told me they have sent all they can and I had to have a receipt for anymore parts. I literally emailed and circled the part I needed and they could never get it right. I did not have my receipt. Made a part to get it to work somewhat. It is very hard to push due to this. Also, the door doesn't close all the way,so granules deop out. The granules also go everywhere, including behind the spreader so,it gets all over the person pushing. For this price ,I would find a better product.

Gearbox problems

Broke after 1 season. Gearbox is fragile, makes a clunking noise. No way to fix it. Still sort-of works, but makes a racket.

SO MUCH BETTER than the "green brand" spreaders

I've owned a few of the "green band" spreaders over the years, and they are junk. Decided to give one of these a try and the difference is ridiculous. It doesn't constantly try to tip over, rolls over grass, doesn't get caught in ruts, and I lost no fertilizer out of it even when I did not have a hand on it. Being 6ft tall, I really appreciate that I can walk and push this one without constantly kicking it. It will hold an entire 40lb bag (not sure if 70lbs of what I was using would fit). The only complaint I have about it comes from trying to use the last little bit of fertilizer in the hopper, you have to basically bounce the thing to get it to dispense. That's about a minute out of the 30 minutes or so I spent spreading 2 bags, so I am not to upset about that.
Yes, I recommend this product.
