Works good. Like most reviews, people have expectations that the product doesn't meet. I was skeptical from reading some of the reviews but I bought it. It works great so far. I have 2 acres that I have spread fertilizer, weed & feed and lime twice with it. Biggest thing I see is not cleaning it after using it. The stuff in the fertilizer builds up on the shoot and spreader discs. I clean it every time.

Right off the bat instructions tell you to line up factory installed bracket with the slot in hopper door. Whoops. Factory installed the bracket upside down.
Good luck if you’re not handy. Took me 30-45 minutes to drill out rivets and correct the factory error before I could continue. Most people would have returned to store.
Finished product was pretty nice..too bad I can’t recommend.

The GroundWork 85 lb Tow-Behind Spreader is decent in capacity and does come with a cover, but there are some drawbacks. Assembly takes 20+ minutes and requires two wrenches of the same size, which most people won’t have handy. The hitch point twisted and the unit even flipped over when used carefully with a zero-turn mower. Adjustment and flow control are not convenient, and there’s no screen or diverter included. The plastic gears don’t inspire confidence, though the all-plastic tub and gate should be durable and it does hold its setting well. Overall, it works, but it feels like corners were cut on design and usability.

I bought this to spread grub granules on a 4-acre yard, Right out of the box there was a wheel missing. I got that resolved and put it together. I used it twice last year and once this year and it worked well. I used it for the fourth time at the beginning of September and the gearing stripped, making it useless as the distributer plate won't turn and neither does the stirrer in the hopper.
If it cannot last being used more than 4 times, I cannot recommend it. In fact, I would say that it should be avoided at all costs.

Cheap and not very durable. I had just bought it and put it together and got through one 25 lb bag of seed when the spreader broke and seed started pouring out. I had to do the second 25 lb bag by hand. Spend the money on a nicer one. I do not recommend it. Fortunately I was able to return it cause I had just bought the thing. I buy a lot of good products from TSC, but this one doesn't fit in that category.
