This unit replaces a 14 year old Frigidaire 6500 BTU unit that was still working well but I felt due to its age, should be replaced. The new unit has many of the same features I used on the old unit but the ECO/ AUTO fan feature was new to me. I have been using this feature these past two weeks and overall I like this feature. The loudness of the unit when the compressor starts up is intense and takes some getting use to, but the on and off ECO cycling of the unit during the night is wonderful. I hope the new unit is reliable as the unit it replaced and so far I would recommend this unit to any one looking for a new window AC unit.

Great airconditioner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This air conditioner is great! We put it in the living room which doesn't have any doors and it cools that room (about 350 sq fewt) and the adjoining rooms! The room gets tge late afternoon sun which can be very hot and there are more windows than wall so it is really doing its job. It isn't too loud. We easily watch TV. I cannot speak to longevity because we have only had it a few weeks but we had another fridgidaire AC which has lasted for YEARS! the only thing I don't like is how the sides you pullout attach to the unit. It doesn't go totally flush so there are small holes, you can see the outside. They aren't big and I just put tap over it but I haven't ever seen that before on any of our ACs. The smaller 6000 we put in the kitchen and it has the same thing. The 6000 also cools the kitchen really well. But that wouldn't stop me from buying again. I just think it could be better.
