Q: does it expand or contract or otherwise jump or bulge when water is turned on/off?

  • A: The FITT Force Pro Commercial Grade Garden Hose features a "lay-flat" design. When you turn the water on, the hose expands in diameter to take on a traditional round shape, and it will contract back to flat once the water is turned off and drained Bulging: It does not bulge like a cheap, stretchy "pocket" hose. It is built with a reinforced, commercial-grade 5-layer mesh (NTS plus technology), meaning it maintains a consistent, rigid round shape under water pressure without ballooning. Jumping: Because it is very lightweight and fills up quickly, the hose can experience a slight whip or "jump" at the nozzle end if the water is turned on while the hose is coiled up or kinked. To prevent this, you should uncoil the entire hose completely before opening the spigot

Easy to use and lightweight

This hose is very lightweight. It has good gaskets that don't leak. I was skeptical about the kink proof feature, but it really does work. I no longer have to unwind the hose in a specific way. Now I can just pull it out and use it.
