Plum Magic is a semi-dwarf form of crape myrtle, blooming in early summer with fuchsia-pink flowers. It forms a rounded shrub, with a dense, full shape. The foliage emerges plum-purple in color and eventually matures to rich dark green, nicely setting off the bright flowers. It will bloom again in late summer if the first flush of flowers are deadheaded. It has excellent resistance to leaf spot and powdery mildew and is perfect to add a shot of summer color in a foundation planting or as an informal hedge.

  • Thrives in USDA Zones 7-9
  • Grows to mature size 96-120 in. wide x 144-168 in. high
  • Deciduous shrub experiences foliage loss in winter and new growth in spring
  • Requires full sun and low maintenance
  • Trimmed at times when shipped to promote plant health
  • Shipped dormant (no foliage) winter through early spring
  • Dig a hole one and a half times wider than the container the plant came in; 2. Remove the plant from the container, roughen the plant from the container, center the plant in the hole, keeping the plant vertical, top of root ball should be level with the surrounding soil surface-this may require adding back some soil, fill in around the roots with soil, and then firmly tamp down, water your plant thoroughly, refill with soil if necessary, then water again, and add 2-3 inches of mulch around the base of the plant-keeping away from the plant stem

Tractor Supply had the best price for this I could find. It arrived in perfect condition and looks like a super hardy plant. I had it shipped to my local store and was able to pick it up a few days after ordering.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Crepe myrtle

So far, not the last bit happy with the order. I've been a good TS customer for over 20 yrs. I'm witholding judgement, but several of these trees look dormant/ dead. I'll certainly be in touch if they fail to grow.

No, I do not recommend this product.
