This DuraVent DuraPlus Triple-Wall Chimney Cap protects against dangerous sparks, helps prevent rain from entering the chimney and features two insulating layers consisting of a ceramic blanket plus air space. The triple-wall chimney cap includes ceramic blanket insulation that's held securely in position, eliminating hot spots common with loose-fill type insulations. In the event of a creosote fire, the chimney cap compressible blanket insulation permits the chimney liner to expand outwardly in a radial direction.

- Cap comes with spark arrestor screen with removable screws for easy cleaning
- Three 10-minute chimney fire tests at 2100 degrees F
- Designed for normal and continuous operation at 1000 degrees F flue gas temperatures
- DuraPlus is subjected to rigorous and stringent HT requirements of UL standard, including 1 hour at 1400 degrees F

- A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the manufacturer, "The 6DP-VC is the vertical termination cap for a 6” ID / 10” OD DuraPlus Chimney. The proper cap for an 8” DuraPlus triple-wall Chimney would be 8DP-VC. This cap will not work on the 8” triple wall pipe."a year agoHelpful?

- A: The cap will need to be gently pried our of the chimney length. There is not a good trick that I can offer, just be careful not to damage the chimney itself.2 years agoHelpful?

- A: Most likely it will not work, as it is only designed and UL listed for DuraVent DuraPlus chimney. I would suggest locating the exact cap for your system or looking for an universal cap. A chimney sweep may also have a solution.2 years agoHelpful?
