- A: The horse blanket can be washed by hand or in the washing machine, but not bleached. Generally, you don't want to wash your horse blankets too often or you'll risk them wearing out too quickly or damaging the waterproof material. These blankets really only need a good washing once per year, and many horse owners choose to wash them at the end of each winter season.2 years agoHelpful?

I bought this 75% off at my local TSC making it an INSANE deal for such a nice blanket. One of my horses has zero winter coat and I wanted something mid weight for when temps drop. I use it when it’s 45 degrees or below and it works wonders. It’s got reflective strips that I LOVE at night too making him easier to see. I wish I had bought several more while they were on sale and plan to next year.
