It’s great, BUT I have an almost impossible time trying to get it to charge. I have to insert the plug into the collar just right, futz around with it for minutes while it starts and stops charging and then when it finally seems to “stick” set it down ever so gingerly. It takes me like half an hour to get it to start charging reliably. Other than that it’s a handy device.

All I can say is: WHY didn't I do this sooner?! Fear of hurting my dogs, I suppose. But that fear is disproven. What an amazing tool for teaching dogs boundaries at a distance! Generally, vibrate is enough to deter their attention, or a double buzz has come to mean 'return to me'. The adjustable shock feature is great, and is 100% successful at deterring attention. Within a few sessions use, behaviors I was struggling to correct were calmly in hand, and are continuing to improve even with no collar on. I bought 2 add-on's (in different colors to keep them straight) to my original collar. With the included instructions, it's very easy to program them. Note: each collar programs to the dot it originally set to, not the dot selected when you turn it on each time. I work in a fear-free veterinary practice, which of course promotes positive reinforcement training. While that has a lot of merits, a treat in my hand means nothing to my dog at 100 yards, but a buzz on their neck sure does. Also worth noting, my dogs (Keeshonden) have very thick coats. I have not met a breed with a longer thicker double coat. I did purchase the extended contacts but haven't installed them. When the collar is snug enough to stay securely in place, the contacts connect.

Great collar! Lightweight design is comfortable for the dog, while the transmitter has multiple attractive features for both training and hunting. I was so impressed I purchased an additional collar for my son and his dog.
