Like the hand unit, when it worked

I purchased it in Oct 2025 and was happy with it till the first of June when I realized it was only working when the dog was within 20 feet of me. I am in the process of sending it in for repair, the response I received was it sounds like a antenna issue but I removed the prongs and tested the wire from behind the collar to the end and its fine, and no I did not cut it. I had been thinking my dog was being more stubborn for a month or so but now realize the unit had been failing.
Best Uses - PetsObedience Training, Hunting/Sporting Dog Training, Yard and Home Pet Training, Retrieving Training

Hello. From your description of the signal reception distance gradually waning it may be that the 9v in the remote is no longer strong enough for the signal to have any strength at distance. Since the remote uses a 9v Battery for sending the signal to the remote. The signal sent will only be as strong as the 9v battery powering the remote. If you have not replaced the 9v battery in awhile, please replace it with a fresh new 9v (preferably a 9v Lithium). This will give your remote the proper signal strength to communicate with the collar at designed distances.

Great E-Collar for 99% of all hunting dogs.

I bought this a few weeks ago and so far it has performed well. I chose the RAPT-1400 model because I liked the (semi) hands free feature. After reading the instructions, charging the collar and installing the 9-volt battery in the transmitter, I put it back in the box and took it with me to West Tennessee to check up on how my field golden retriever was doing in gun dog school. When arriving and going out to the field the professional trainer asked to use my new RAPT-1400 because the E-Collar he brought with him was old and starting to give him problems. He ran thirty-five dogs that day on my collar. It worked great on all dogs except for one really stubborn dog; it didn’t even phase him. The trainer commented that the RAPT-1400 was a good E-Collar, though he liked the hands free feature it took a little getting. He did say when running the one stubborn dog that the RAPT-1400 was not as powerful as the E-Collar he normally uses but it was a fine E-Collar. I would definitely buy this again.

Didn't last

Not sure what the problem is but I am somewhere around a year with this dog collar and it is already going out. It will not fully charge anymore (no green light) and when we do charge it as much as we can, it will only last an hour or two at best. I have two collars of another brand that are 10-15 years old and still going strong. The only thing is they don't have the vibrate feature so I'm stuck tying another brand until I can find a company that makes one that will last.
