Rated 5 out of 5 by from The little cultivator that can. Great little lightweight powerful cost effective cultivator. Only assembly is putting the bolts together for handles. Started on the third pull out of box, I warmed up and broke in before putting into action. After using the first time and getting some rocks and vines wrapped in the tines, a simple cotter key makes removing a snap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash This is complete trash. This is my 2nd year with it. 1st time I used it, it was great. Half way through the gardening season last year the issues started. Each time after that has been horrible. I've spent more time trying to start it and keep it running that I have ever tilled with it. There's no way it could possibly have more than a few hours of tilling time on it. I've dumped out and replaced the gas/oil 3x, thinking maybe it was the gas.'s not the gas. It's just a piece of junk. It is not only the worst tiller I have ever owned, but probably the worst piece of machinery that I've ever owned. If Tractor Supply reads these, then I would challenge them to try to start my tiller in under 20 minutes and try to till with it for more than 10 minutes. It's funny that one of the questions they ask me when making this review is "did you read the reviews before purchase". I wish I would have, but I thought Tractor Supply sold more dependable products than this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice machine for tight spaces Nice little machine, it fits in tight places and allowed me to weed our big backyard bed with ease but also the small beds next to the house and around the front.

is this a four cycle engine?

Asked by: fraer
This is a 2 Cycle gas engine, if you are looking for a similar model you would be looking for the MC440 our part number is 12802 and this is a four cycle. Thank you!

I want to plant grass will it remove the native grass. So I can plant with new one San Agustin grass?

Asked by: Mike412
It is more difficult to use a cultivator to till up sod. It will do it, but it will be a lot of work. You would be better off with a front tine or rear tine depending on the size of lawn you are working on. All tillers will not remove grass it will just break up the sod into smaller clumps. You would then need to go back and rake those clumps out.

describe edger attchment

Asked by: blondie2
The Dethatcher Kit is very effective for lifting away the excessive matted layers of thatch that can prevent moisture, oxygen and nutrients from penetrating the soil and can harbor disease and insects. Use in Spring, Summer, and Fall to bring life and color back to your lawn. This is an attachment for the MC43, the Dethatcher Assembly replaces the tines on the tine assembly.

Will this work to break up ground? I don't need a huge area, but it's an area I just don't have the energy or strength to do by hand.

Asked by: bbgail
The MC43 isn't designed to break ground, its meant to cultivate soil is already broken. It may work to break some softer soil, but again that is not it's intended purpose. You would be looking for a tiller.
