Q&As

Q: Can this be converted to run on LNG?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! While you cannot convert the DieHard 5000W Inverter Generator to run on Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), you can convert it to use standard household natural gas (NG). LNG is an entirely different fuel that requires specialized equipment to maintain its low temperature and pressure, which is not feasible for a small portable generator.

Awesome Generator!!

Needed a higher powered generator for my RV. The Diehard 5000W Dual fuel generator does the trick. Was able to run my RV on both LPG and gas with no issues.

Great little generator!

After recent multiple day power outages in our area, I wanted to be better prepared for the next one. I checked out other generators and decided this was THE ONE! Important features. for me included: -visual LED display of fuel, power output, accumulated runtime, volts-amp-hertz -rated KW output & peak output -weight & noise level -convenient handle & wheels -electric start & remote All this wrapped up in a great looking package! Has everything that I needed to keep my essential electrical appliances & device going. Highly recommend!

Yes it can run on an 11" propane supply!

Just wanted to add, Pulsar support sent me another propane hose, I took the high pressure regulator off (required serious force!) and connected the demand regulator directly to my 11" propane supply. It works great on propane now. The CO sensor is a bit of a problem if you need to use it protected from the rain.It is very sensitive! I was able to clamp a 1" copper pipe coupling around the exhause screen, and slip an exhaust flex hose over that. Now the CO ends up far enough from the sensor intake.

Almost perfect for me!

My solar system handles most of my needs, but the occasional week of no Sun requires a generator. This one has the same nominal output as my ancient Onan which just died, but it only weighs 60 pounds! At low output it is pretty quiet, but when I draw 20 Amps the engine speeds up _really_ fast. Gradually slows down as my battery charger needs less current. The remote start works well from 20+ feet away inside the house. The digital display is handy for seeing the load, but of course you're facing the engine noise to see it. My one problem is I want to run it from my house propane line at 11" WC, and the propane hose is designed for full pressure of a portable tank. It runs for maybe ten seconds and then dies. Pulsar support admits there is a problem, and I'm hoping they can get me a hose with just the demand regulator, without the high pressure regulator. Supposedly would solve my problem. We'll see... Oh... The manual is a bit sparse. Like to get the side cover off they just say unscrew the knob at bottom right. What you really have to do it pop loose the three spring clips along the top of the cover. But if it will run on my propane, it is way better for my needs than any other option. And lower cost, too!
