I’ve been using this tanto knife for general work around the house and it has been great so far. The blade is very sharp and the tanto shape makes it really strong at the tip, which is useful for tougher cutting tasks like opening boxes, cutting thick plastic packaging, and trimming materials. The knife feels solid in the hand and the handle has a good grip so it doesn’t feel like it will slip when applying pressure. The folding mechanism is smooth and the locking system feels secure when the blade is open. Overall it’s a very well built knife that feels durable and reliable for everyday use.

I have owned cheap knives and some real nice name knives. So I am comparing usefulness, quality, ability to keep its edge, and carry ability Pros: I like the ease of the pocket clip how easily it catches the edge of my pocket and stays there. The pocket clip is also easy to revert for carry tip up, or tip down. The knife came with a nice edge already on it. Seemed to keep its edge well, wether it’s carving on wood, or cutting cardboard. Blade lock was quite stiff at first but works well. Cons: The belt clip has its flaws. It does stick out a little more and can catch on things, The flipper works well, at first it did not flick the blade to a locking point. With more use seems to get better, especially with a flick of the wrist. Also the flipper is smooth, no grip, or texture to help your thumb or finger flip knife open. Feel like this could be improved. Knife came with a nice straight edge but I put a little more on it myself, however the serrated portion could use some more edge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tanto knives are a unique breed of knife, and they are often hit-or-miss. I am not sure who DeWalt had help them with this design, but this knife has to be one of the finest quality tanto blades I have ever worked with. It was a pleasure to cut with and I was also able to use it to trace lines on drywall. The blade is incredibly sharp. Truly a piece of craftsmanship.
