I've been using the DeWalt DCM848 for detailing my personal vehicles, and it's been a fantastic tool. The variable speed trigger is impressively sensitive, giving me great control while working. I also appreciate the variable speed dial, though to be honest, I don’t notice a big difference between 4000 and 5500 RPM — still, it gets the job done. The polisher feels solid and a bit heavier than I expected, but it's very manageable and easy to maneuver. I usually hold it by the snout and haven't found the need to install the included side handle, especially since I tend to switch hands often during use. There's plenty of power for what I need, and since I already own other DeWalt 20V tools, using the same battery system is super convenient. Swapping batteries is quick and seamless, which keeps me moving without downtime. Highly recommend it for anyone doing their own detailing at home.

I purchased this polisher a couple of months ago. I polished my Vette and my wife's BMW. This polisher made it so much easier than I imagined. And the results were amazing. Friends commented on how Great my cars looked.
