Buy a different vac, this one is a paper weight

Not often that I buy a Dewalt tool I'm not happy with but this is a really well built vacuum with a really crap motor. Useless vacuum. Barely any suction. Better off using a lint roller.

Easy fix for vacuum stopping and does not work

I purchased this in 2020 and it has just now failed. It was running with a fresh battery and then it just stopped and nothing I could do different battery. Anything would make it work. I don’t believe Dewalt provides a replacement circuit board, so what I did is I bypass the circuit board for the ground wires and hooked the motor directly to the switch for the black wire only. It works like a charm now.
