Hydrangea 'Nikko Blue' is a superb shrub for accent, specimen, or border; desired for their splendid, abundant, showy blue globe-shaped flower clusters. This shrub displays handsome foliage on boldly branched, mounded form. Grows in full sun, partial sun, and shade, and is fast-growing. Hydrangeas benefit from some shade in the middle of the afternoon, especially in hotter regions. Few plants offer such beautiful Dutch blue coloring as Hydrangea when grown in acidic soils. The dried flower heads are often used in flower arrangements. Hydrangeas are among the showiest of summer and autumn flowering woody plants. I purchased this DeGroot Hydrangea Nikko Blue and others at my local Tractor Supply store and turned-out to be dead, not dormant.

Must Be Patient!

Purchased and planted spring of 2022. Minimal growth the first 2 years and last year had big healthy leaves, but no flowers. This year is the reward for waiting…lots of blooms, just beautiful! If you can’t wait, spend the extra money on a mature shrub. But if you can wait, it’s worth it and this price is a steal!

Bad

I purchased seven dormant hydrangeas from Tractor Supply — six Nikko Blue and one Sweet Starlight. I followed all the planting and care instructions provided in the box carefully, but unfortunately, all of them died.
It's very disappointing to spend money and time only to have no success, especially when I did everything according to the directions. I have experience with plants and expected better quality.
