Q: I live in zone 9. How long will it take to go from bulb to 3 foot plant?

6 years ago- A: Elephant Ears should be dug up in fall, after the first frost, and overwintered in a cool dry place (set in dry peat or wood shavings) where temperatures do not dip below 45 degrees F.6 years agoHelpful?
Q: How long will it take to start shooting leaves? Will the leaves be ginormous the first year?
6 years ago- A: Thank you for your inquiry. Typically, your elephant ear bulbs begin putting out growth when the day temperatures start reaching the low 60s. The leaves will be somewhat large the first year but they will be larger the second or third year.6 years agoHelpful?
