Crescent 12 lb. HEADLOCK Fiberglass Sledgehammer

This thing is a beast. After setting, one blow and done. Good to build muscle too. Solid and well built. Very comfortable grip and not too bad to look at either. Bought the wedge to test against a couple others, and it digs right in without bouncing out as some say some do.

Grabbed this mainly for helping to break down pallets and whatever random “hit it until it works” jobs pop up in the garage. Been happy with it so far. At 12 pounds it’s got enough weight behind it to actually get stuff done. Honestly the grip is what won me over. Rubber overmold on the fiberglass handle stays comfortable and doesn’t slip. A lot of other sledges chew up your hands. Overall it’s comfortable, durable, and does what it claims to do.

I have used many sledgehammers; this one is the best. The handle does a good job of absorbing the impact shock, and it has a nice grip that gets wider at the end to provide a firm, comfortable grip that won’t slip. The best feature of this hammer is that the head is encapsulated into the handle to reduce the likelihood of breakage. It also protects against damaging the handle when it strikes the object you are hammering on. I also like how it has a smooth face and a cross-hatched one. This hammer is my new favorite. I expect it to last for many years. I will be looking to purchase the smaller 10Lb version for situations in which I don’t need quite as much weight. This 12Lb is a big hammer, but sometimes that is exactly what is needed.

Perfect sledge for the bigger jobs. The fully encased head makes for less worry of breakage. The 12lbs should be enough to move almost anything that needs broken free.
