- A: Howdy neighbor! Yes, the Crescent 1-1/8 in. Metal Pipe Cutter will cut PVC, but it is not the most efficient tool for the job. While the sharpened wheel will eventually score and slice through the plastic, it is designed for copper, brass, and aluminum, so it may leave a large internal burr or "lip" that you'll need to sand down before gluing your fittings.2 months agoHelpful?
