- A: I purchased the heated mat intending to use it in an outdoor house for feral cats. The instructions said NOT to cover it with anything. I use straw in the cat house so I was afraid the mat could be a hazard therefor I did not use it in the cat house. I would have the same concerns about covering it with wood chips.5 years agoHelpful?

Quit inexplicably after 2 weeks of use!

Loved it...for 2 weeks...then noticed my feet were cold. Power light comes on, but completely cold on either setting. Very poor quality to wear out that quickly. Not an inexpensive item, either, by any means.

I bought this for my kittens to stay warm this winter. I have it on the garage cement floor and it provides just the right amount of heat for the kittens to sleep on. It makes me happy to hear them purring when they are all huddled up on the mat.
