- A: The glove factory doesn’t pursue an ANSI rating. ANSI ratings for gloves are about the handling of sharp items, and whether those items can create a cut on the end user. Chainsaw gloves do not have an ANSI rating, because of how they work….. same as the chaps, the outer layer cannot withstand a moving chain, and is intended to be punctured and then stop the chain, bar, and sprocket with kevlar or other synthetic strands that are layered inside the glove.”a year agoHelpful?
