Countyline Sub-Solier

There are some reviews here as to the durability of this product that I have to disagree with. Chances are if you break off the arm or bend it all the way back from a root then you are traveling too fast. 1st gear, low range and at an idle is the best method. Also, don't try to take the full depth on the first pass. After you have made one run through most 3-point hitches have enough "sway" to keep the cutter in the trench even if you you aren't dead-on with your steering. After you have made your first pass if possible flood the trench with water and let it soak for a little while and the next pass will go much easier. If you encounter a tree root too big for the implement to pull through, stop, lift out and keep a hatchet with you and chop it out. I used this to run 400' of waterline and approx. 1000' of various types of wire/cable and my property is very wooded. Even going slowly I saved a lot of time and back-breaking labor with this inexpesive attachment. The key is you have to go slow or you might not get ten feet with it and then you aren't getting anything accomplished, fast or slow.

One star given to point out issue for subcompacts

I can't give this product a real review, but I gave it one star to highlight for subcompact tractor owners that this attachment will not fit on smaller tractors. It is too tall to hook up. This would be a plus for larger tractors because it gives deeper digging depth, but subcompact owners should not buy this.

Decent design. Terrible welds.

Steel is plenty heavy for my Kubota L6060. Used it a few times to break the hard pan prior to planting Christmas trees. Then one of the welds popped off and the middle angle iron broke. Simply unacceptable. The metal is heavy. Good welds should be super easy. I’ll have to buy another but I won’t buy this crappy thing again.

Did what I needed

This little implement did what I needed it to do. We have heavy ground, and I wanted to break up the hardpan that had developed from many years of rototilling. It did a nice job and I'm looking forward to seeing great results in the spring.
