Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought for spreading top soil.. Bought this for spreading topsoil and mulch created soil. Simple modification with a piece of 2x 1/8 flat stock with three drilled holes 3 3/8 th bolts.. Flat stock reduces the unwanted flow (soil is thinner then Manure), so it was added on the outside of the discharge over the main tumbler.. Three bolts to hold it in place.. Surprised the maker doesn't offer this as an add on!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small operation only Don’t break it because it’s a nightmare trying to get parts. TSC does not stock repair parts, and you can’t deal with Country Line direct. Do not use when the temperatures fall below 30. It freezes the manure and breaks the fly wheel. So it’s basically a 3 season machine unless you load and spread the same day. Stones can break the machine. It handles pure manure best but if it’s too wet we use a shovel to help it funnel down the shoot. We have two draft horses so a lot of manure for us to use a wheelbarrow all the time. So for us it’s ok for the price but there’s a lot I would improve. I just don’t know of any other spreaders out there for this price and small

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recommended Improvements to Manure Spreader I found the Manure Spreader to be well Constructed, but I also found as others have that several improvements need to be made to improve the ease of use and functionality of the Spreader. 1. More splines need to be added to the breakup roller to better breakup wet Manure for easier dispersion. Wet Manure seems to cling to the sides and has to be shoveled down in order to be dispersed unless on really rough ground. 2. A cover for the Bottom Roller needs to be designed that can be opened and closed by an external leaver so Manure does not drop out in the barn or on the way to the dispersion area. 3. A hole needs to be drilled over the covered gear housing so the grease cert can be easily accessed to grease the bearing. A small cover can then be screwed over the hole for ease of greasing the bearing without having to remove the three bolts that hold the cover on every time the bearing needs to be greased. Would recommend the company send all owners a new Gear Cover with the Ease of Grease Hole drilled in the Gear Cover.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little spreader So this is a great little spreader that we hook up to our lawnmower. It takes only about 4 buckets of manure and spreads them quickly. There are just a few minor cons. First, the hay gets wound up onto the rotating part and decreases the efficiency and has to be manually removed. Second, the mechanism to activate and deactivate the spreading could have been made differently, the lever is hard to move, sometimes I have to use a hammer to move it into the right position and sometimes it moves itself so the spreader is not activated when it should be. But it beats spreading manually and is perfect if you only have a few stalls to clean.

Brand new, haven't used yet. When I disengage the wheel lever the beater and roller continue to turn. Manure will just fall out and spread when moved from stall to stall. This problem is mentioned alot. How do I fix?

Asked by: Kg75
Once material is put in spreader it should disengage and drum will not turn. The drum does turn, even if disengaged, when empty.
