Kinda tight for the size recommended

I do believe your size guide is off. According to the guide, a large is “L = pants 35-36/waste 36-38. I wear a 36 jeans and my waste is 37. A little snug but, not uncomfortable. The shorts are too tight to button at the size 36 I purchased.

Great other than short zipper

These are lightweight, comfortable and well-made, but the zipper is only ~5" long, leaving ~4" down to the crotch seam. Another inch or so on the zipper and these would receive a 5*.
