Tetanus can cause serious symptoms, ranging from stiffness and seizures to sweating and fevers. Protect your horse against this disease by administering the Colorado Serum Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine. In addition to horses, this vaccine can also be given to sheep and swine. Two doses are recommended in order to achieve primary immunization. Available in a 10x1 mL dose or 10 mL dose vial. How it Works
Protective antibody levels usually occur about two weeks after the second injection of the primary immunization series. In contrast, administration of Tetanus Antitoxin is recommended for immediate, emergency, passive treatment of exposed animals with an unknown vaccination history or with signs of tetanus infection. Refer to the Tetanus Antitoxin product circular for full information and consult with a veterinarian.
Special Precautions
Anaphylactoid reaction may occur following administration of products of this nature. If noted, administer adrenalin or equivalent.
