A fully armed 13th Century Knight was a true power, capable of plowing through a multitude of opponents while encased in his state-of-the-art plate armor that could shed, deflect or absorb the blows of many of his foes. Enter the War Hammer, an ideal weapon for use against an opponent who is encased in plate steel. The heavy hammer head could crush the strongest helmet or suit of plate armor with just a few blows and the back spike could rip through helm and plate like a modern can opener! In battle, the hammer side was usually employed first to knock down and stun an enemy. Once he was on the ground, the hammer was reversed and the back spike was used to punch a hole through the helmet and deliver the coup de grace. The Cold Steel War Hammer serves as an inexpensive yet highly effective recreation of this awesome weapon.Note: This product may require up to 2 additional days for order processing prior to shipping

  • Weighing a little over 2-1/2 lb., our War Hammer is highly maneuverable and can be easily wielded with one or both hands
  • Head is drop-forged out of 1055 steel and differentially heat-treated
  • The point of the spike and enormous hammer face (1-1/2 in. x 1-1/2 in.) are fully hardened so they can pierce and crush tough materials without failing, while the rest of the hammer is left soft to absorb the shock of heavy blows
  • Handle is made of straight-grain American hickory and measures 30 in. L to provide tremendous leverage
  • To protect the handle from assault by an opponent armed with an edged weapon, we have included a pair of sturdy steel langets which can be attached below the head with the screws provided
  • Some assembly is required
  • Instructions are included

You know... a farming war hammer.

This is a simple, functional, every day use sort of war hammer. It has a solid handle and a decent steel head. It won't win a beauty pageant, but strip the head, blue it, sand off the clear coat and throw some linseed oil on it, and I'd take er' home.

****Please read BEFORE purchasing.*****

Cold steel is a trademarked brand. Because this is so not cold steel. The steel would be stamped as such. It also came with cheap screws that the heads broke off while attempting to complete the assembly. Which why am I assembling anything. It said nothing about that in the description. I am completely taken by such a large company as tractor supply is to be selling such very poor imitations like this. I am reporting this to cold steel™️ because this is totally unacceptable and borderline illegal. Anyone contemplating purchasing this save your money and frustration and don't.

As advertised, only better

The WarHammer is impressive, well made and balanced. The shaft guards below the hammerhead had to be installed, but it was fun and easy.

Hammer Time

I have handled this hammer before but never owned one. It is a pleasure to hold and swing. The pick and head may serve some uses that are practical, but this is a weapon. Pitty the burgler who comes uninvited into the reach of either end of this thing. The hickory is solid and the head secure. The head and langettes are blued after removing the paint. The whole thing looks and feels excellent. Pleasure to own.

EDC cold weather self defense tool.

Perfect for cold weather. Concerned you may have to defend yourself against someone wearing a thick winter coat or perhaps a leather jacket? No problem for this attitude adjustment tool. This will definitely make an impression on an enraged Eskimo.or abusive abominable Snowman!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good for home defense?

I bought this awhile back for fun and in the idea of a home invader, well that fateful day came where somebody broke in. I grabbed my war hammer and as he came upstairs (i was hiding behind the was at the top of the stairs) I swung and it caught him in the face, I heard a sickening crack as he fell down. After I went downstairs to check the damage and Chunk of his head was gone, he was armed so I called the police and when they got there they saw the body
