The piece is stamped. The medial ridge is only raised on 1 side, at the expense of a channel on the other side. Good for a wall hanger. Did come with a kydex sheathe.

I bought this to build a home defense spear for a friend of mine who bought house. She and her wife were a little nervous about break-ins although it's a nice neighborhood. They didn't want to go so far as to purchase a firearm. The house has a narrow set of stairs leading to the second floor bedrooms and so I thought a nice long-reach spear would be a great tool to dissuade anyone from making their way up said staircase. I added some embellishment to the handle, grips, and pommel end. They love it! It's a fantastic thrusting tool and can even be thrown quite well (although I built it on the heavy/durable side). The sheath that came with the spearhead is great. The spearhead itself is beautiful, intimidating, and highly functional. I'm jealous, to be honest and will likely build one for myself soon enough.
