Rated 5 out of 5 by from Key to pulling our dock out I used the Champion winch connected to a tree with a towing strap to pull the dock out of the lake before the ice locked it in for the winter. Thanks to Champion service support for helping me figure out how to support the winch using the towing strap and mounting plate. #sweepstakes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifting The Elevator Bought this to take out the manual work of cranking up the hay elevator to get loads of hay in the barn. It worked great and my shoulders are thanking me for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replaced my boat trailer winch I purchased this Champion winch to replace an old Powerwinch on my boat trailer. Its pulling a 16 foot boat. The winch is slow bit deliberate. I have the winch permanently mounted on the winch stand. The hole pattern matched my old winch perfectly. One gripe, there are detatchable pieces. The power cable, switch cable, and a small plastic cover piece are detatchable. I haven't lost anything yet. But the possibility is there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad for the money. Did the job I needed it to do and I didn't have any problems using it. The take-p could be a little flaky as there is nothing to neatly spool the cable onto the winch. So the cable tended to get stuck and required some hand-cranking to unspool it after use on a load so it could be taken up and guided by hand onto the spool.

Does the remote raise and lower? Because I need one that raises and lowers with remote.

Asked by: Rio50
This is a utility winch made to pull a boat on to a trailer for example. It only powers in, not out. If you need to lift something, you should use a hoist and not a winch which is made for pulling, not for suspending or lifting dead weight for example. If you are looking for a snow plow application, then you should use a standard ATV style winch rather than a marine utility winch meant to be mounted on a trailer.

How to use the clutch

Asked by: Stubba
You rotate the round clutch knob where the crank handle is. This will put the winch in free spool so you can take the lead out to the boat/vehicle. Once connected, engage the clutch and begin winching.
