Carhartt Men's Rain Defender Relaxed Fit Lightweight Insulated Hooded Jacket, M,Dark Blue

This jacket is great. At 5'10" the medium fits well. It's warm and layers well under my Carhartt duck coat when it's real cold. The hood is better than most others with good simple effective adjustment. All this for a reasonable price. Don't know how durable it is yet. Should have more color options, like army green for instance.

I got this on sale with a discontinued color. I kinda wish I had picked up two! It's a nice jacket, easy to layer under for more warmth, but fine on its own. Good pockets. I like the cuffs so it keeps me covered well. I live in the PNW, in an area famous for our rainy season, and it's been great for keeping me dry when I'm out doing farm chores this fall and winter. It also does well in the washer, no special settings.

I love this jacket, but it does not repel water at all. I was out in the rain for 5 minutes and I was soaked through. Not what I expect from an expensive Carhartt jacket. Pros are that it's warm and comfortable, as long as you don't get it wet. Rain Defender-not.

It was hard to get ahold of one of these on sale. Most stores were sold out, called several other stores to locate one. Holland store had one but charged ten dollars more for “free shipping” to Fruitport store. Luckily Fruitport gave me a price adjustment to the sale price. This jacket is super comfortable to wear indoors or in the car. I drive to a job where I don’t take it off indoors. The rain defender feature is great because I can shovel snow and it doesn’t stick if it is snowing outside. Win win! I get compliments on the blue. I only buy Carhartt jackets with hoods.
