I'm glad I thought to peel back the label covering max weight information before using it so I was able to return it. MAX WEIGHT 6000lbs but sold as 8000lbs hitch? Am I missing something? It does have a ball stamped at 8000lbs but a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

I recently purchased this bROK 2" drop ball mount that came with a 2" ball already mounted and a locking hitch pin. The product is advertised on the sticker and online as being rated for 8,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 800 lbs tongue weight. Due to the price, weight rating and overall appearance, I thought I was getting a good deal. HOWEVER, I recently removed the gaudy looking metal "B" sticker on the ball mount and found the actual rating that is stamped into the ball mount is 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs tongue weight. This is a full ton less than the product is advertised for. The ball is stamped for 8,000 lbs but let's remember that the mount and ball need to be rated for at LEAST what they are advertising it for. Not only is this false advertising but could be a serious safety hazard. My gut told me something was up when this brand I'd never heard of had a ball mount/ball combo rated for more weight and priced less than the other familiar brands next to it. Unfortunately, I bought this one and have used it a couple times, so I'm sure it can't be returned. Also, who knows how many of the other products this brand has are improperly rated. I hope TSC sees this and starts questioning what they are selling. I've included a pictures of the stamped rating on the mount and the stamped rating of the ball. Remember, the area of the stamped ball mount rating was hidden underneath their logo sticker, no doubt on purpose. My advice is, steer clear of this brand and go with something more trustworthy!
