    Very heavy built

    About as heavy a receiver as you'll find for a class 3 hitch. It needs a 1¼" shank ball, a typical 1" shank ball will be too small for the hole and just not rated high enough for towing over 5k pounds.

    Other than being all scuffed up with white paint, it seems to be a great ball mount. I purchased this scuffed version because it was the only ball mount in stock with the drop I needed for a brand new truck - and I had to pull a trailer that day. Functionally the scuffing is not an issue, but do you want that on your brand new truck?? A good scrubbing with denatured alcohol and a can of quality spray paint solved the scuff issue.
