The Hopkins Towing Solutions LED 3/4 in. Fender Mount Clearance Lights meet Federal DOT and FMV SS108 requirements for clearance, side marker and ID light. Each light assembly contains one amber 3/4 in. round clearance LED and one red 3/4 in. round clearance LED with the amber light always facing forward and red always facing rearward. The life of a LED light far exceeds traditional incandescent lights and draws significantly less power.

Use for rear clearance lights on a tapered LowBoy.

I could not see the rear of my tapered flatbed/lowboy trailer when backing up. We welded a 2"x3" rectangular tube to the rear outer edge of the trailer and mounted these lights vertically to the outside of the tube, high enough to see them over the fenders in the rear view mirrors. It's very nice to easily see the rear corners of my trailer during day or night!

I like these. If you are confused about how they mount (I was), I have included a photo of them on one of my trailers.
The things I like most about these are that I can see my trailer wheel wells at night in the rear view mirror when maneuvering, and, I can tell that at least my taillights are working. They are also bright enough to illuminate nearby obstacles if you are going slow enough.
Another use I found for them is on top of an electric road gate. It was always hard to tell if the gate responded to the remote control until I was right on top of it. With these mounted on top, as soon as the gate starts moving you can see it. Just wire to the "lock" terminal on your gate opener.
