Superb quality!
I absolutely LOVE this coat! I'm 63 years old and this is, by far, the best coat I have ever owned. There is no comparison in quality to any other brand. Period. I bought this coat about 10 years ago and it fits like a glove. This thing is tough as nails and the description of 'heavy duty' does not do it justice. I have abused this thing by working on machinery and general farm work. Review guidelines said to not mention competitor, but you know who it is. They're nowhere near as tough. Although my Berne now has some wear tatters, I intend to keep this forever. The only reason I just bought another is that they were hard to find. Keeping the new coat in the closet until this one finally dies, which I don't expect any time soon. Can't say enough about this fantastic coat.

Could be better
First the good: The jacket is comfy, warm and well made and I liked the idea of a removable hood. There are however a few aspects I personally am disappointed with. Everybody is built differently but for me, the tail is a little too long and the front a little too short. The sleeve length is great. The four main pockets are too small and difficult to access wearing gloves - which would be likely when wearing a jacket such as this. Would have appreciated fold-in flaps for optional easy access. The zip works well but doesn't really go up high enough to my chin allowing cold air to enter unless one is wearing a scarf. The hood is too roomy width wise and not roomy enough height wise, so when worn up, the weight of the jacket is resting on my head. The outer material, while soft and comfortable feels a little too soft to cope with the snags of work life so I would have liked something a little more rugged.
To some many of the negatives may be irrelevant and for you guys, I suspect you may enjoy this jacket. I decided to keep the jacket as I didn't really find an alternative that ticked all my boxes plus the discounted price I paid made it more compelling value. Overall not a bad jacket, but could be better.

Keeps me warm
I bought this to replace a Ridgecut jacket that had a zipper break. It isn't as heavy as the coat it replaced. But it seems to be warm enough. I like the idea of the metal snaps on the storm flap. My old coat had velcro and they didn't keep the coat closed once the zipper broke. I like the 9 pockets... 6 outside and 3 more inside. The sleeves are a good length and don't pull up when my arms are outstretched.

Perfect fit and looks to be very well made. Plenty of pockets and comfortable. Very good value for same quality as coats from another name brand.
