Once a month, empty the entire litter box. SWITCHING WITH EASE TO HARDBALL CLUMPING LITTER: 1) Pour 1 inch of ARM & HAMMER Clumping Litter into a clean litter box and add 1 - 2 inches of your old litter brand on top. Do not mix; your cat will mix as it is used. 2) The next time you change the litter box, fill with 2 inches of ARM & HAMMER HardBall Clumping Litter and 1 - 2 inches of your old litter brand. Repeat this for 3 to 4 changes, lessening the amount of your old litter each time. 3) Fill the litter box with 3 - 4 inches of ARM & HAMMER HardBall Clumping Litter. At this point the transition should be complete! However, some cats do need more time, so don't give up and repeat Step 2 as needed.

This litter clumps great and is really low on dust. The only downside is the fragrance, which is very overpowering and off-putting to me and my cat. Please consider making an unscented version!!!

I love how the litter doesn't track like clay litter & how light it is, but I will not buy it again because the intense scent is overwhelming. If it wasn't so expensive, I would have thrown it out so I will use it until I can't keep my windows open. If they ever come out with an unscented product, it would be the only one I would use.

Change in formula not as good

I've been buying this litter regularly since at least this summer (over 6 months). When I first got it, it was great - the best litter I had ever tried. However - In recent months there has been a change in the color, and it's now not as good a product. Please go back to the lighter-color formula. It's a noticeable difference that has diminished the effectiveness. It's an expensive litter - I think the old formula was worth the extra cost. I'm not sure that the new formula is. New formula looks reddish- brown. Old formula was a lighter neutral-yellowish wood color.
