Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more muddy entrance I use these at the gates going into my yard and off my deck for mud control. Grass grows right up through the holes and you can mow over it after the mat settles in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice and light to handle these mats re excellent for the wash area. However, they tend to come apart a lot so I just leave them unhooked from each other.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used as stall mats at Congress We used these as stall mats at the Congress instead of the boards for a sore horse. Overall they worked pretty well. They were easy to roll up, transport to and from the stalls, the fine shavings we brought worked perfectly with them and they were easy to shake off. The only downside is they don't interlock together very well at all. Even when used for their intended purpose, they come apart very easily and regularly if the surface is at all irregular. A strip of gorilla tape might do the trick. But they seem to be holding up well for the short time we've had them and I think they will last many years at the Congress. For the wash bay?... time will tell.

For a 12x12 horse wash stall , will they come apart if not against the wall  & wet?  Can water get underneath to drain/ channels underneath ?  Will mud & sand get stuck in holes?

Asked by: EHL1
This product will interlock mat to mat however there is a possibility the mats can be pulled apart. The bottom surface of the mat is designed with pins or legs to allow water to channel and drain in any direction. The holes are approx. ¾” diameter so most sand and mud flushes through the holes with water flow. The interlocking on these mats are not extremely tight – the plus is they can be easily taken apart for cleaning. An option to hold them together is to use nylon cable/zip ties but this makes for a more permanent situation.

Can the interlocking panels be arranged in a 2X4 foot pattern?

Asked by: Wawaset Warrior
Per the manufacturer the product is 3’ x 3’ so it would not be possible to have a 2’ x 4’ foot pattern.

Do these mats, in order to stay in place have to be next to the wall?  My area is 12’x12’.  Would 9’x9’ work for that area without coming apart?

Asked by: Cathe
These mats will stay together through their strong interlocking system. They do not need to be pressed against a wall.
