Q&As

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: will this work with a 12500btu roof mount air conditioner?

1 Answer
  • A: It is not recommended to use the AIMS Power Modified Sine Inverter on a roof-mounted air conditioner. While the inverter's power rating may be sufficient, the modified sine wave output can damage the air conditioner's motor over time.

Q: Would like to run 1 or 2 1500 watt 110v oil filled space heaters like you heat a room in your home with! Was thinking of using a solar panel connected to a 12 volt battery and then to this inverter, then to the heater(s). Would this work?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes it should as long as there is enough power stored in the battery bank. If the heaters need 1500 watts each we recommend using the hard wire port on the inverter to get the full 5000 watts and account for the start up surge.

Q: Without the vehicle running how long could it push 5000 watts before leaving the vehicles battery dead? Also 5000 watts is a lot you can run most you house off this correct?

1 Answer
  • A: This inverter requires a minimum of 416.67 amp hours from battery. When sizing an inverter to be used in a vehicle we need to know the amp hour rating of the vehicle battery and amps of the alternator. The Alternator needs to be 1-1/2 times the DC amp draw of the inverter.

1 Answer
  • A: We size inverters based on the customer’s power needs in watts or amps and volts. We are unable to size by the BTU output.

Good bang for your buck

I am happy with the product and seems rather efficient. The only issue I had was trying to run a electric 2 horse motor. The unit went into over load from to much amp draw but a all in one air compressor worked great. I'd recommend it for campers and RVs

Yes, I recommend this product.
