The AgriLabs VetGun for Vetcaps Aim-L 602 is a unique system for delivering insecticide-filled gel capsules (AiM-L VetCaps, sold separately) to control horn flies and lice on cattle. AiM-L VetCaps burst upon contact to deliver the insecticide. This horse insecticide is powered by CO2 and can be utilized from 15' - 30' away. Simply aim, shoot, and treat. The horse fly repellent is easy to operate, accurate, and reliable. Cattle are easily treated while milling around or feeding, without added stress or labor. The horse fly repellent allows one person to easily apply insecticide from horseback, pickup, ATV, or while on foot. Saves time and puts you in control of when and where you treat your cattle. Includes two adaptors, allowing use with both 25 gm and 90 gm CO2 propellant cartridges (CO2 propellant cartridges or refillable CO2 tank sold separately).

- A: The short answer is yes and yes. Can this be used along with the ear tags (there is no restriction to using in combination but the type of ear tags -ie active ingredient will determine effectiveness and potential build up of resistance in the fly population). Example - an organophosphate tag with AiM-L is a great combination. and is this product water resistant or do you have to reapply if cows like to soak in the pond? (If AiM-L is applied 48 hours prior to getting in the pond the AiM-L is “locked” into the natural oils on the skin and will not wash off in the pond or the rain. Less than 48 hours may result in some lose/washing off of the AiM-L.)5 years agoHelpful?

Shoots straight and didn't bother the cattle. The insecticide worked well the first week and the flys returned in week 2. Bad year for flies.

Seldom have I been so pleased with an internet purchase. Impressed with the quality and workmanship. Everything works and fits properly. Tried the gun on 4 head in a pen. Next day, no flys. Went out in the field and shot 12 head, big Angus cattle. Next day, no flys. Easy and fun to use. Very little reaction by the cows. I'm a fan.

Horn Flies were all gone by morning!

We found this product to be extremely effective against horn flies. One shot to most of our 26 cows cleared up the problem entirely, the next morning there were none to be seen after hundreds were visible on every animal, and they had been rubbing on everything trying to rid themselves of the pests.

Waste of money

If you want to spend time running around the pasture looking for the medicine balls because they didn't bust then this thing is great! You have to be within 5 feet and hit them at 90deg in shoulder or it won't work. I read alot of reviews before I purchased and everyone said they were great ? Don't see it.
No, I do not recommend this product.
