Q: 1 1/2" npt threads on fittings?
8 years ago1 Answer
- A: The fittings on this series hose are actually NPSH which is a straight thread. NPT is a tapered thread. The number of threads per inch and the OD of the male is identical for both NPSH and NPT. Both are 'Pipe Thread'. In 99% of all applications, there is no difference. The main difference is that the NPSH threads seal against a rubber washer and the NPT does not. Sometimes an NPSH male will only thread maybe thread about one turn on a pipe thread female, but the crushing of the threads will create a leak-proof seal.8 years agoHelpful?
Q: does the hose need a pump to move the water through or would a gravity feed system work as well

Discharge Hose Assembly (Abbott)

I've only had this product a short time but I can tell you that the casted hose connections appear to be robust and the wall thickness of the hose itself seems to be relatively thick.
