As the price of premium dog foods has gone up, we've been looking for ways to still feed our dogs wholesome food while watching our wallet. As a college-educated vet tech, I understand the need for quality ingredients in dog food, and how fillers like corn and use of "mystery meats" diminish nutritional value of dog food. As a show exhibitor of Shetland sheepdogs, I see the dogs look good, have plenty of energy, and like this food. As a person who just enjoys her dogs, the price and quality of this food is the perfect fit for us. Great job filling a big customer need, Tractor Supply.

Watch out for bad batches

I had been buying the 4Health small bites for my dogs for over a year. Around October 2020 they both started vomiting their food within 24 hours of each other. Within another 24 hours they were vomiting the food within an hour of eating and the vomit started to include blood.
I took them to the vet - vet gave them some medicine to heal their throats and I stopped the food entirely.
Dogs were fine as soon as I stopped the food. Contacted Tractor Supply about the issue - they asked for receipts for the food, pictures of the batch number, and receipts from the vet. I gave them everything and then they never followed up with me. This is 4 months later so I feel like they've had plenty of time to respond.

SAD TO SAY

I began feeding my dogs Small Breed when Small Bites was no longer available.
I was feeding my dogs Small Bites for about three years.
I have one that will eat most anything and stay healthy. The other has had stomach and coat issues over the years. Until I started feeding Small Bites. After a couple of months my troubled little guy became as heathy as my little vacuum cleaner, eat anything dog.
All the troubles reappeared within a few weeks of changing their diets.
I've bragged on Tractor Supply and their 4health brand up until this point.
Now I am leery and hoping to find something that will bring back the health my boys enjoyed while eating Small Bites.
Even my healthier dog has become a bit lethargic since I started feeding Small Breed.
