Nice Looking Small Safe (not fire rated)

It's a nice safe that works good in a small space or in a bedroom that doesn't stand out. I had it shipped to store which was prompt and pickup was easy and the TSC folks were very helpful loading it. The one thing that wasn't great is that the store had already changed the code to the safe and did not tell me so I had to call Winchester customer service and they helped get in the safe for the first time. I'm not sure why the store did that when it was a customer pickup and was not going to be on the floor of there store. It was a waste of time for them and me and could have been easily avoided. Be ware if you can't get into your safe the first time with the default code from Winchester... this is what has probably happened.

The good and bad

The safe arrived a week later than advertised, delivered by a third party shipping company. The box was completely destroyed and almost completely detached from the pallet base. I asked the delivery person if I could finish detaching it to view the safe before I accepted the delivery. He agreed. To my surprise, there were no scratches or dents on the safe. I accepted delivery. Two days later I opened the safe and found the shelf was broken in half. I found that I could remove the fabric (carpet like) covering from the shelf. After doing so I used the shelf as a template and cut a new shelf out of plywood, a much stronger material. I glued the shelf covering on the new shelf and it worked perfectly. I could have contacted TS and requested a replacement, but that would have been far more difficult than just replacing the shelf myself. Aside from that the safe is as advertised.

Absolute Home Run

This is probably the best budget safe option on the market for condos or apartments, or if you have an extra rifle or two and some handguns / ammo / valuables. The white color lets it blend into newer modern closets. Might have to make yourself an extra shelf for $20 but this safe is a home run for $300. A+ quality and value for money.

Great safe for the money; but you get what you pay

$300 this safe... you really cannot complain at all. Does it resist fire? no. Can a pro force-open it after 1-2hrs? yes. But hey, you spend $300 for something that will deter 99% of bad agents, keep kids away and overall offer peace of mind. It *might* hold 12 guns if those are 10/22s or ARs with no attachements... but once you have a couple rifles with scopes, lights and whatnot its more like 8-10 guns max. Very sturdy and heavy, quality bolts and I like the finish, albeit not comparable to $1500k-$2000 safes. If you want something firerated, better locks and all... spend $1000-$1500... else -> this is a perfect safe that I reckon would suffice for most people on a secondary residence/office/temporaral storage... or your main residence if you are tight on money. In my opinion, best at this price range.
