- A: Yes. Valvoline blue is a high grade conventional lubricant made for Diesel engines. Zinc and other detergents are added to the stock oil in much higher quantities as compared to competitors diesel oil lubricants. You must keep the Engine clean internally for long service. I have a 7.3L Ford 20 years. No modifications all stock. Always used Valvoline Blue 15W40. No Major mechanical issues just PM’s on engine sensors, O-rings, filters, now going past 244000 miles. Maybe after 500k miles I will install new injectors. Now, respective air cooled diesel motors. My assumption here is that this machine is stationary and there is an oil cooler installed with an oil temperature gauge. 15W40 Valvoline Blue will work well. Full Synthetic Valvoline Diesel oil will d5 years agoHelpful?

3 gallons please!!!

I’ve been using this oil in my Dodge Ram 6.7 Cummins since the day I bought it over 12 years ago. It is about to surpass the 250K mile mark and it still runs like a new truck, largely thanks to this excellent oil. My only complaint is the oil is available in 1 gallon, 2.5 gallon, and drums. The 6.7 liter Cummins takes exactly 3 gallons so it would be really awesome if they would make it available in a 3 gallon container.

2004 Duramax 2WD Crewcab. Been using this oil since new. At 436K and going strong, uses no oil between changes.

We started using premium blue from day one of buy a brand new kenworth with a 605 X15 Cummins. This oil is the best oil we’ve used. Cummins also recommends it!
