After buying a metal fold-up, then a metal telescopic, I was not satisfied with the 'feel' of either. Knowing that it's best to actually hold/lean onto a cane before buying it, I found not only the best (feeling) help and support for walking, but also a Most Excellent non aggressive looking first-line-of-self-defense tool. Very well constructed, although it comes with out a rubber tip. I cut my height adjustment with a fine tooth hacksaw. I personalized my new US Whip 36 by sanding down the factory finish and applying a few hand rubbed coats of oil to it. I ended up naming my new friend "Woody". I plan on purchasing another as soon as possible.

This was my first order with Tractor Supply. I was told that they sold a heavy cane for directing animals. My closest store is 45 minutes away. I wanted to visit the store so I had the item shipped to the store. There it was waiting for me all wrapped up in plastic. When I got home and after close inspection, I see that the wood has a natural flaw and crack inside the crook. Too bad that I can't attach a photo. Well I guess that it will be another 45 minute trip to return the dang thing.
